Some weddings feel like a celebration; others feel like a homecoming. This Greek wedding in Ann Arbor, Michigan, was both—a day filled with love, joy, and the kind of warmth that only comes from deep-rooted traditions and a family that truly celebrates one another.

From the moment I arrived, I could feel the energy in the air. Laughter echoed through the getting-ready rooms, where family members helped with final touches, offering blessings, hugs, and the occasional happy tear. The ceremony itself was a beautiful reflection of Greek Orthodox traditions, steeped in meaning and history, with every moment honoring not just the couple’s love but the generations before them.

And then came the dancing. If you’ve ever been to a Greek wedding, you know that the dance floor isn’t just a place to move—it’s a place to connect, to celebrate, to honor heritage. Guests of all ages joined in, linking hands in a sea of movement and music that carried long into the night. It was impossible not to be swept up in the joy of it all.

What struck me the most, though, wasn’t just the traditions or the beauty of the day—it was the people. Every single family member I met radiated love and excitement for the couple. There was no obligation, no forced smiles—just pure happiness for two people stepping into this next chapter together. As a photographer, I felt lucky to witness it, to document those fleeting glances, joyful tears, and all the little moments in between.

Some weddings stay with you long after the last dance, and this was one of them. To the newlyweds—thank you for letting me be part of your day. Your love story is one for the books, and I’m so grateful I got to document it.
